The NK Academy serves as the foundation for talent identification and development for future NK Elite athletes. In 2015, the NK Academy launched with the formation of 9 Youth Development teams in the EAST and CENTRAL regions of the GTA. Since then, 40 players graduated from our Academy Teams into the Elite AAU exposure stream of our program.
In 2019 we have grown to 30 Jr. (Grades 4-6) and Sr. (Grades 7-8) Academy teams, including the addition of the NORTH region and our Girls program The Queens of The North.
In August of 2020 The Premier League was formed with the inclusion of NK. The League will operate as a collective to promote, execute and develop basketball in Canada for players, teams and coaches alike through elite level training in an unparalleled Academy infrastructure.
Competition facilitated by the Premier League will focus on these top teams, versus one another exclusively @PremierLeagueGTA. Our “Premiere” team from each age group will now compete in this exclusive battle between the country’s top clubs.

Q. Where will practices be held?
A. Practices will be at The Hoop Factory in Pickering and GTA. (PERMITS PENDING)
Q. Why the Northern Kings?
A. Our focus is skill development and internal growth for our players. Our program is centred around the athlete; within the team concept. This year like others, NK players with 5+ years in the program will progress into playing at post secondary levels. That’s real development and results! A consistent, uniform and systematic approach plays a big role in this success. On the organizational end we strive to provide a first class service and continuously improve our communication with our parents.
Q. How much will the season cost?
A. $2750. Reduced price if paid in full. Sibling discount offered. Monthly installment plan offered.
Q. What League will we play in?
A. Elite players will play in the Premier League. The OBA and CYBL, determined by coach, will serve as the competitive platforms for our Academy teams.
